Players have been starved of all opportunities to play professional tennis due to the coronavirus pandemic. They need events like the Top Seed Open to help prepare themselves for the US Open and the rest of the WTA calendar, which is a very grueling schedule.
Right now, Serena Williams and Sloane Stephens are probably training for the Top Seed Open. Every tennis fan is waiting to see them return to action after so many months. Hopefully, they will do really well there and also do well on the rest of the 2020 WTA Tour.
