The three-time Roland-Garros champion, Serena Williams got enough support from the Parisian crowd during all the three matches which she played this year. She played a petrifying opener at French Open 2019 by losing the first set to 83rd-ranked Vitalia Diatchenko from Russian, but the mob raised her level to win the match.

When she was losing to her compatriot, Sonia Kenin the Court Philippe-Chatrier was resonating with ‘Allez Serena!’ cheers. On that note, Serena Williams shared her thoughts about playing in Paris.

“Yeah, I don’t know. I never really thought about it. You know, I think at the end of the day I have to just be true to myself, and I have to be me. I feel like I am a great person, both on and off the court. People cheer for what they now know as opposed to what they don’t know,” Serena Williams said.

Last year, Serena made it two consecutive Grand Slam finals, but she couldn’t really achieve success in etching her name on the major title. Her personal and professional lives have undergone changes since the time she gave birth. Serena Williams feels that her run to Wimbledon 2018 and US Open 2018 finals were the flourishing achievements in her career as a mother.

“It’s hard to say. I feel like I have had some great runs last year, and, you know, I’m hoping to still build on that this year, and, you know, keep it going. I don’t know the great runs that I have had, but just at the Grand Slams,”  the World Number ten, Serena Williams said.

The Roland-Garros finalist, Dominic Thiem, and Serena Williams grabbed attention during the Grand Slam event in Paris and Thiem’s press conference haphazardly concluded. Over there, the Austrian mentioned Serena displaying  “bad personality” and upon his return to Vienna, Thiem jested about sharing the court with Serena during the mixed doubles event at Wimbledon.
