Tennis biggie Serena Williams would be looking forward to sharpening her craft before the US Open commences on August 31. The Western and Southern Open or the Cincinnati Open as it is commonly known is expected to be the training tournament prior to the US Open. The 23-time Grand Slam winner is looking forward to the US Open, which is the first Grand Slam after the COVID-19 crisis.

Serena Williams sits comfortably in the round of 32 in the Cincinnati Open. She awaits the winner of Alison Van Uytvanck of Belgium and the winner of the qualifier. The tournament consists of top players including Petra Kvitova., Naomi Osaka, and Karolina Pliskova. As a result, Serena would be looking forward to winning ways and make a powerful entry into the US Open. Seeded 3rd in the Grand Slam, she’ll definitely be looking to clinch her 24th right in her country.

Serena possibly will face Johanna Konta of Great Britain in the Quarter Finals. However, if she proceeds, she might face Madison Keys or Sofia Kenin in the semifinals. All the way into the final, she may set up a clash with Naomi Osaka or Petra Kvitova or Aryna Sabalenka. Though Karolina Pliskova of the Czech Republic would be the favorite to reach the final alongside Serena.

Serena should be cautious about her game given the fact she lost in the quarterfinals to unseeded Shelby Rogers. Upsets are a huge happening in the Grand Slams. Specifically, now that tennis is returning to its greatest avenues, any kind of upset would mean a hot cake for tennis fans. However, Serena playing in her own country would be lethal and indeed a force to reckon with.
