It’s almost time for the much awaited ATP Finals 2020. The World No.3 Dominic Thiem will also be playing in the tournament and is the third-seeded player. The US Open 2020 winner will be returning to the court after the Vienna Open 2020 where Andrey Rublev knocked him out of the tournament.

Just before the tournament, Thiem revealed his toughest opponent apart from the ‘Big Three’ in an exclusive interview. It was none other than World No.7 Alexander Zverev whom he defeated at the finals of the US Open 2020.

“For me, personally, Sascha is the toughest opponent to face besides the ‘Big Three’. I already said that after the US Open, both are games make things difficult for the other one,” said the 27-year-old Dominic Thiem.

Clearly, the two share a healthy rivalry. Thiem went on and even explained why he used to face difficulties in playing against Zverev.

“For me, it’s tough to play against him because he serves and returns so well, because I always have trouble finding a good tactical plan against him. That is why he is the toughest opponent, even though the last matches have gone my way,” added Thiem.

Thiem really had to fight till the end to win the US Open 2020 final against Zverev. Although he lost 2 sets, he made a superb comeback to win his maiden Grand Slam title.
