India have registered a convincing win over Bangladesh in the first-ever day-night Test. Although India was asked for the day-night earlier as well when they toured to Australia, they didn’t agree at that time. However, it was the new BCCI president Sourav Ganguly who took the initiative and India captain Virat Kohli too agreed on that. After the successful match, former Australia player Shane Warne hopes India will play a day-night Test in Adelaide as well.

Shane Warne took to Twitter and wrote, “Congrats to you and @imVkohli on agreeing to play a day / night test. I hope there’s another one next summer in Adelaide when India tour Australia on @FoxCricket – Would be amazing buddy ! ?”

Even, Virat Kohli too commented on that while he was asked that if India will be ready to play Tests under floodlights overseas and if a request comes from Cricket Australia in future.

“I think a good practice game before that and if we get enough time to prepare we are open to doing anything. It’s just that you can’t have it in a short notice. As I mentioned last time, if we get enough time to prepare we are willing to do anything that is required to take up Test cricket in any manner. We’ll be quite open,” he said.

India pacers made the winning foundation for India alongside Virat Kohli, who smashed a century. The pace trio of Ishant Sharma (9/78), Umesh Yadav (8/82) and Mohammed Shami, helped India finished the game in little more than two days.

“The discipline and the hunger to win (is there). They understand how important it is to support one another and bowl as a unit. That’s when you create pressure and that’s when things happen. They know they are arguably the best side in the world,” Ravi Shastri said after India’s win at Eden Gardens. “They’ve been together that for some time and they know there’s no short cut. Individuals will not win it and they know it.”

Sourav Ganguly, on the other hand, said he will soon speak to Virat Kohli to know his thoughts about the game.

“Hopefully it will spread to other parts of the country and I am convinced it will. This will revive Test cricket because it is different for people. Everything changes with time including people’s taste. It can’t just be in Eden Gardens all the time. It needs to go to other parts of the country. There are very big grounds in India. People throughout the country should experience this,” added Ganguly.
