“She Puts Me To Shame”: Venus Williams Rates Serena Williams’ Daughter Olympia’s Athletic Body

American tennis legend Venus Williams has been a great ambassador to the sport. Over the years, she’s achieved tremendous success, which very few players have managed to do. She has held the number one ranking in singles and doubles. Besides, she has also won Gold medals in singles and doubles at the Olympic Games. 

Venus Williams is envious of Alexis Ohanian’s body

Recently, Venus Williams was talking on a podcast and spoke about her niece Alexis Ohanian’s body posture. She praised her for having one of the best athletic bodies and was envious of it. She also felt a sense of an inferiority complex regarding the matter.

The five-time Wimbledon champion stated, “She has the best athletic body I’ve ever seen in my life. She puts me to shame.”

In recent times, Olympia has accompanied her mother to the different tennis tournaments on Tour. As a matter of fact, during Williams’ practice sessions, Olympia has been practicing sharpening her tennis skills too. 

Serena Williams’ decent but disappointing start to 2021

Speaking about Serena’s recent performances, she began her season at the exhibition event, ‘A Day at the Drive’ in Adelaide. During the event, she played Japanese tennis star Naomi Osaka and beat her. Later, she competed at the Yarra Valley Classic but withdrew from her semifinal clash against World No. 1 Ashleigh Barty due to a shoulder injury.

In her bid to capture her 24th Major, she competed at the season’s first Grand Slam event. After registering impressive wins in the initial rounds, her journey came to an end in the semifinal, going down to Naomi Osaka.

On the other hand, Venus competed at the Yarra Valley Classic but lost in the second round to fourth seed Petra Kvitova. Later, she featured at the Australian Open but lost in the early stages to Italian player Sara Errani. During that match, the American athlete managed to win only one game during the entire match.

Both players have not featured in any event since then and will look to resume their season on the clay-court events. Serena will be seen at the WTA Italian Open 2021 in Rome, beginning later in May.
