The new era at Chelsea started last year when Todd Boehly, who owns La Lakers, bought the club. There were several changes made to the management to mark the start. Chelsea parted ways with Thomas Tuchel and appointed Brighton manager Graham Potter. Boehly was the one who backed Potter as he was looking for a long-term.

Potter’s era at Chelsea has started turning into a disaster, and he is under immense pressure from the fans. Londoners are out of the FA Cup and League Cup and are tenth in the Premier League. However, Potter has got support from the Manchester City manager, who has urged Boehly to have patience with the current Chelsea manager.

Guardiola, after a 4-0 win, said“I would say to Todd Boehly, it was a pleasure to meet him, but give him time. I know results are important in big clubs, but I would say give him time.” He further added, “I think the second half today is what he is, and what he did in Brighton was outstanding. All the managers need time, and he was right. We need time in the first season.”

Guardiola didn’t stop here and shared why it was easy for him when he started his managerial career at FC Barcelona. “I had results in Barcelona in the first season but we had Lionel Messi, so one season was enough,” added the City manager.

Can Potter turn around Chelsea’s fate?

Chelsea is currently languishing tenth in the Premier League. Injuries to important players have hauled their progress and are ten points off the top four. Chelsea forwards are misfiring, leaving them the least-scoring side in the last eight matchdays in the Premier League. They also have the least points during this time.

Players like N’Golo Kante, Edouard Mendy, Raheem Sterling, Wesley Fofana, Christian Pulisic, Reece James, and Ben Chilwell are out injured. Also, Chelsea has been inconsistent, and Potter faces an uphill task of turning around the fate of the club.
