It has indeed been a brilliant campaign for Wrexham so far. The club is enduring one of its best seasons so far and is finally dreaming big. After facing many struggles, the club has finally glided to glory.

Ryan Reynolds’ side is ruling at the top of the table and will be looking to keep hold of the lead. With the same ambition, the club tried to perform well in England’s oldest cup tie, the FA Cup. Unfortunately, things were not in their favor as they faced a sad exit from the cup.

Wrexham’s exit may be out of sorts, but that doesn’t rule out the fact of how well they performed during the competition. The Red Dragons played the first three rounds really well until the fourth round when they were eliminated by Sheffield in the second leg.

Wrexham star Paul Mullin in contention to win major FA Cup award

It was a bitter loss against Sheffield United, as they were expected to continue their magical run in the competition. However, it seems one of their star players might be in line to win a major trophy. Wrexham star Paul Mullin had scored ten goals during their emphatic cup run.

Currently, he is still the top scorer in the tournament, as the closest scorers to him are Louie Theophanous and Jon Clements, both with eight goals. However, neither of them can try to equal Mullin’s record as both of their teams are out of the competition.

This leaves Manchester City’s Phil Foden and Gavan Holohan as the active goal scorers, as both have three goals each. Besides them on the list are Burnley’s Manuel Benson and Manchester United duo Casemiro and Fred, all with two goals. Hence, all of them must be needing to score tons of goals to surpass Mullin’s record of 10.

It is indeed a nail-biting moment for Mullin, who must be desperate to win the award. Either of them may try to score as many as they can; however, it’s Phil Foden whom he must be scared of. Furthermore, everyone is quite aware of City’s terrific goal-scoring record.

Marching towards glory

With just a few games remaining, Ryan Reynolds’ men will be looking to take charge of their lead in the National League. The Dragons are currently sitting at the top of the table with 91 points.
