It’s not every day that a Hollywood A-lister takes over a small-time soccer club. But that’s exactly what Ryan Reynolds did when he and Rob McElhenney purchased the world’s third-oldest soccer club, Wrexham AFC back in 2021.

The club, which plays in the fifth division of English soccer, was struggling in the table before Reynolds’ takeover. But under the new ownership, the team has risen to the top of the standings and is now eyeing promotion to the fourth division.
