The Colombian singer became ‘world-famous’ after performing her single ‘Waka Waka’. Her single was also chosen as one of the World Cup’s official theme songs. However, in recent times life has not been easy for the superstar.

The Colombian star shocked the soccer universe after she decided to part ways with Gerard Pique. A few months after that, the Spanish authorities accused the Colombian star of tax fraud. But the Columbian superstar has always been very vocal about her feelings despite the uproar in her personal life.

6 June 2022, was the day many soccer fans will not forget. On that day, the celebrity couple announced that they would be parting ways. The couple stated that their priority was their children who were still very young. No soccer fan could believe what just happened, but the matter died down after a few weeks.

Three months later, everyone thought that life was happy again. However, the Spanish authorities surprisingly accused the Colombian singer of committing tax fraud.

Shakira described that period of time as the ‘darkest moment’ of her life. In an exclusive interview with Elle, Shakira opened up about how she dealt with the tax fraud allegations all alone. She told Elle, “Every time life tests you, I think that you always find a helping hand that you can hold on to while you cry. I think that even when you feel like you’re falling down an abyss and there’s no end to that abyss, there’s always a certain safety net at the bottom.”

She continued: “And that safety net is formed by family and friends. And if you’ve done things right, you will find that helping hand. And friendship, they say, is the purest form of love, and maybe the most long-lasting one. It’s been so incredible to find the support of so many colleagues, not only friends, but also colleagues, people who have been checking in on me constantly.”

She also then revealed that the Spanish government had no evidence against her. However, they resorted to spreading the news all over the press. The Colombian singer then said that she had enough proof to support herself and there was nothing to worry about.

When did the celebrity couple meet each other for the first time?

The celebrity couple met each other in 2013. The Columbian singer once revealed that she lost all her faith before meeting Pique. The former Barcelona soccer legend was just like the ‘sun’ coming out for Shakira. Over the years, the celebrity couple gave birth to two of their lovely sons, Milan and Sasha.

After dating for nearly a decade, Shakira said that she was never going to get married. For the simple reason that the Colombian singer was scared of the term ‘marriage’. She thought that getting married might remove some of the ‘mystery’ from her long-lasting relationship with Pique.

However, one day Gerard Pique was all over social media. News outlets accused the former Barcelona legend of committing adultery. While the fans thought that this was just some sort of media agenda, the couple announced their breakup a few days later.

Shakira is a true living example of how strong a woman should be in her life. Even after so many setbacks, the Colombian star is still positively striding forward.
