“He Had a Big Mouth” – Former MLS and Manchester United Star Zlatan Ibrahimovic Admits Idolizing Boxing Legend Muhammad Ali

We know Zlatan Ibrahimovic for his sarcastic comments and stark views. He never shies away from expressing his opinions with a pinch of humor, and has both praised and criticized many notable personas in soccer.

The Swedish star made his debut for his national team back in 2001. He had played for renowned clubs like Barcelona, Manchester United, PSG, and currently with AC Milan. A video from 11 years ago resurfaced where he talked about his role model, Muhammad Ali.

In an interview, he talked about how much he admires the legend of Boxing. He talked about various qualities that make the boxer great. Zlatan doesn’t want anyone to compare him with the boxer, as Ali is on another level.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is an Ali fan

During the interview, the host handed him a picture of Muhammad Ali. He stated that the picture is of someone Zlatan might like.

Ibrahimović replied, “This is one of my role models, one of my others in sport and outside the sport also, Mohammad Ali of course, and for me, this person was talking, but what he said he did. I mean, he had a big mouth, but he demonstrated also in the ring.”

Fans are in shock, as Ibrahimovic hardly has positive things to say about people. Zlatan Ibrahimović has talked about his role models, like Ronaldo Nazario, sir Alex Ferguson, and Muhammad Ali. He talked about his admiration in his autobiography.

The legacy of Muhammad Ali 

Muhammad Ali had a legendary career with a staggering 56-5 score. He had just lost 5 matches in his entire career and out of 56 matches, 37 were KO. Muhammed Ali fought for the last time in December 1981. The legendary boxer passed away in June 2016, leaving the world with sobbing eyes. Apart from Zlatan, fighters like Conor McGregor, Mike Tyson, and Khabib Nurmagomedov all have discussed their admiration for the great fighter.

Injured Ibrahimovic is on rest after Sweeden didn’t qualify for the World Cup 2022. The exact date for his return to the camp of AC Milan is not official yet, but fans are hopeful for a strong comeback from the Swedish footballer.
