Cristiano Ronaldo made a blockbuster move to Al Nassr FC this winter. The move came after mutually terminating a contract with Manchester United. There were mixed reactions to his move to Saudi Arabia, with many former players and pundits being unimpressed. Recently, a former France defender also shared his thoughts on the same.

It came as a shock for many that Ronaldo chose Saudi Arabia as his next destination. Many questioned the motivation of the Portuguese behind the move to a less competitive league. However, the two-and-a-half-year deal with the Saudi club made Ronaldo the highest-paid athlete with an estimated $200 million a year salary.

“He has to be prepared for that because he’s a champion. In addition, I would have liked to see him finish in his training club. I do not understand what he went to do there,” Jallet added. It is safe to say that Jallet seemingly is still bemused by Ronaldo moving to Al Nassr.

Can Cristiano Ronaldo inspire Al Nassr?

Al Nassr is currently second in the table with six games remaining. They are three points behind rivals Al Ittihad. Ittihad has one game in hand and can take six points lead by winning it.
