Horrific Footage Catches Soccer Star’s Car Flying Through Air, Crashing Into Sports Hall, Just 11 Seconds After Children Finished Training

A horrific incident came to light from the Belgian city of Liege. A video of a car flying into a training hall emerged on social media. When details emerged, they identified the driver as a Moroccan soccer player playing for Belgian club OH Leuven.

Sofian Kiyine, who was born in Belgium but represented Morocco at U-20 and U-23 levels, is the soccer star in question. Kiyine was admitted to the hospital and is reportedly conscious. However, there was no other person or vehicle involved in the incident. The crash could have proven more lethal had it taken place a few seconds before.

Soccer star crashes in sports hall seconds after children finished training

The video surfacing on social media shows the player losing control of the car at a roundabout. His car went through the wall of the training hall of a basketball team. The images on social media show the wreckage of the vehicle with debris on the floor of the hall. The image also shows a massive hole in the wall of the training hall.

The Louis Melin sports hall is home to five-a-side football, basketball, and gymnastics clubs. Children were training in the training hall. They finished the training just 11 seconds before the car crashed in the training hall, and were in the changing room. It was a miracle that the children training in the hall were safe.

Also, another group was present in the hall when the car crashed through the wall. The athletes of Alliance Flemalle basketball club were also in the room with their coach cum sporting director. The coach witnessed the whole incident, which left him in shock. He thought it was a gas explosion at first, but then saw a car drilling through the wall of the hall. The coach feels they are fortunate to be safe after the horrific incident.

The player is conscious after the horrific crash

OH Leuven immediately released a detailed statement regarding the condition of the player. It read“Sofian Kiyine was taken to the emergency department of the nearest hospital where further examinations are taking place. He is not in a life-threatening condition. Fortunately, no other vehicles or persons were involved in the accident.”

The agent of the player also released the statement from his side. According to the agent, the player never lost consciousness during and after the incident and has few displaced vertebrae. Kiyine lives with his family in Liege and was traveling back from Leuven after completing his training when the incident occurred.
