However, her personal struggles haven’t stopped her from doing what she loves. Recently, the Colombian singer went viral because of one of her latest songs. In the song, Shakira publicly takes a nasty dig at her ex-boyfriend Gerard Pique.

The lyrics of that song are really empowering. While the fans are appreciating Shakira for the courage she showed in the new song, Lionel Messi’s wife also extends her love and support to the Colombian star.

You thought you hurt me, but you made me stronger. Women don’t cry anymore, they cash in.”

Last December, Shakira reminded the soccer world about one of their own stars who was struggling. While every fan was excited about the World Cup final, the Colombian star requested her fans to keep a moment of silence for Amir Nasr Azadani. Amir Nasr is an Iranian soccer player, who was arrested while protesting for women’s rights in his country.
