Portugal registered its 2nd win of the FIFA Qatar World Cup with a comfortable 2-0 win over Uruguay. Bruno Fernandes was the star of the night for the 2016 Euro champions with 2 goals. However, a huge confusion happened in the first goal as Cristiano Ronaldo claimed it and celebrated. However, it was later awarded to Bruno.

Their win over Uruguay sent them to the knockout stages of the competition. They won their first game 3-2, in what was a thriller against Ghana. However, they were far more comfortable against the South American giants.

Uruguay had its fair share of chances but failed to convert them. Portugal, on the other side, was clinical in the 2nd half and won the game deservedly. The incident has gone viral on social media, sparking reactions from fans around the world.

Portugal is among the few teams that have already qualified for the knockout stages of the World Cup. Uruguay, on the other side, sits fourth in the group table with just 1 point from two games. However, their qualification to the Round of 16 is still mathematically possible. But their fate will also depend on other teams from Group H.

Breaking down Group H at the 2022 FIFA World Cup

Portugal is the only team that has qualified for the next stages of the soccer mega-event. Ghana sits 2nd on the group table with 3 points after the close win over South Korea. South Korea and Uruguay have just one point from two games.

South Korea plays group leaders Portugal next and only a win could help them qualify for the R16. However, if Ghana wins against Uruguay in their final game, South Korea will head home despite their result against Portugal. Uruguay will have to win their last game against Ghana in order to qualify. They will also expect South Korea to drop points against Portugal.
