Teams and fans are engaging in banter on Twitter to make psychological pressure on their opponents. In one such incident, NBA legend Charles Barkley trash-talked the Netherlands ahead of their match against The USA.

Memphis Depay got the last laugh

Before the Netherlands and the USA match, Charles Barkley got a bit aggressive with the trash talk. While predicting a USMNT win, he said, “We opening up a can of whoop-a**. I guarantee the Netherlands is in trouble.”

However, to the horror of Charles and all USMNT fans, the Netherlands walked all over the USA beating them 3-1. It was after the win, Memphis posted the screenshot of the final score and a picture of Barkley captioned it, “Lotta bark, No bite“.
