USMNT star Christian Pulisic, who belongs to Hershey in Pennsylvania, shocked the NFL fans by wearing a Patrick Mahomes jersey after Super Bowl. His Chelsea teammate Reece James shared a picture of the American with a Mahomes jersey on his Instagram story. Fans reacted to see him in the Kansas City Chiefs jersey, as back in 2018, he wore a Philadelphia Eagles jersey.

Fans thought he was an Eagles supporter as the team and the soccer star both belongs to Pennsylvania. Mahomes inspired the Chiefs to a comeback win at Super Bowl LVII on Monday. Chiefs were trailing by 10 points after the second half and became the only second team to come back from a double-digit deficit to win the Super Bowl.

The performances from DJ Snake and Jason Derulo inaugurated the Super Bowl before kickoff. At the halftime show, nine times Grammy winner Rihanna performed for the first time in seven years and rocked the stage. After Rihanna’s performance, Chiefs star Mahomes inspired the Chiefs to their second win in the last four Super Bowls and was the MVP of the game. However, Pennsylvania fans looked unhappy at Pulisic for wearing Mahomes’ jersey.

One fan wrote, “Pulisic grew up less than two hours from Philly and he’s wearing a Chiefs jersey today. What a dork,” replying to a tweet showing a Chelsea star in a Chiefs jersey. Another fan compared him to Luis Figo. Figo made a shocking transfer from FC Barcelona to the El Clasico rivals Real Madrid back in 2000, inviting a backlash from Barcelona fans.

Pulisic suffered a knee injury during the Chelsea game against Manchester City last month. Blues expect him to return next month from the injury. They substituted the American forward 22 minutes into the game because of the injury.
