Gregg Berhalter reveals the true potential of this team
USMNT coach Gregg Berhalter is another key figure in this setup as he has to get his team up and firing. The young manager spoke about his team’s chances for the World Cup in an interview with ESPN FC. He gave a very conservative, but honest, view of the situation and revealed that they just want to get out of the group stage first.
“We certainly have to get out of our group. That’s what our first focus is, and then it’s going to be about how we play our best game to keep moving on. If we don’t move on and we played our best game, we’ll be able to live with that,” the coach said.

The USMNT are placed in a group with England and Iran. The fourth spot in the group will go to one of Ukraine, Wales, and Scotland. England are the favorites to win the group, and Gregg Berhalter’s men are likely to finish in second place.
However, the former Crystal Palace player understands what the fans in America are looking for, and proceeded to say that the team would give their all to go as far ahead as they can.
“Our DNA as Americans is winning. When we watch the Olympics we are looking for gold medals. I understand that that’s the fabric of who we are as Americans and that’s a beautiful thing,” he added.
