“I Don’t Blame Cristiano Ronaldo”: English Soccer Legend Shuts Down Manchester United Fans’ Criticism
Follow Us
Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the most inspirational athletes in the world of sport, let alone football. The man came from nothing and climbed the ranks at Sporting Lisbon and Manchester United to create a long-lasting legacy of dominance that stretched for around 15 years.
However, is this it? Is it all coming to an end for Ronaldo? It seems highly ironic that the club where he won his first Ballon d’Or and UEFA Champions League titles is seemingly going to be where he fails. These statements might seem too early to be made right now, and Ronaldo has proved critics wrong over and over again, but it’s difficult to see a way out of this for him.

Premier League legend Alan Shearer talks about United’s problems this season
Manchester United started the season brightly, and it seemed like this was going to be the season when they come back, but it wasn’t to be. They had to sack their manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after a few horrible performances in the league, which left them out of the top six.
Currently, United are sitting in fifth place and could drop further if Arsenal and Tottenham win their games in hand. Premier League’s top scorer of all time, Alan Shearer, spoke about the problems that exist in the club, and absolved Ronaldo of any blame.

Cristiano Ronaldo and his stats for Manchester United this season
There is some truth in Shearer’s statement because even though Ronaldo hasn’t scored a goal in six games, his contributions have been vital in the past few wins. He has scored eight goals in the league, adding three more assists in 20 games. He has come under heavy criticism from sections of the United fanbase because of his inability to link play or occupy central-defenders adequately.
