Christian Pulisic is one of the biggest stars in the world of football right now. A lot of that has to do with him being the captain of the USMNT, and comparisons to other American greats like Landon Donovan and Clint Dempsey are now thrown around.

However, that’s the extent of the hype surrounding him, and things haven’t worked out for the 23-year-old at Chelsea. He’s now linked with a move away from the club, and there are questions surrounding his captaincy for the USMNT.

Nevertheless, Pulisic has never failed to perform for his nation and always gives his all on the biggest stages.

He’s also jokingly referred to as the “LeBron James of Soccer” after a man gave him that moniker in an episode for Pawn Stars. The name caught on, and it wasn’t a surprise that Pulisic himself was a huge fan of the LA Lakers superstar.

Speaking to ESPN FC in 2018, Pulisic revealed that James had been his biggest inspiration and that he’s a big fan.

Pulisic could’ve been in the NBA

He didn’t stop there and also revealed that he loves playing basketball. Pulisic revealed that he used to play the sport in middle school and was good at it. However, he had to choose football in the end because he was always better at playing football than he was at any other sport.

I played one year of competitive basketball, actually. I don’t remember what grade I was in, maybe middle school or something. But I was always a little bit better at soccer, so I had to make the decision,” he said.
