The Premier League title race has been one of the most interesting ones in recent years. Liverpool and Manchester City go head to head again, almost a repeat of the title race of 2018-2019. However, as we reach the end of the season, several factors come into play.

Liverpool wrapped up both of the domestic cup competitions after beating Chelsea in the final of the FA Cup. Their biggest game of the season is coming up in just two weeks as they’ll take on Real Madrid in the final of the Champions League.

Amidst all of this chaos, the Premier League title race serves as a good side quest for Jurgen Klopp’s reds.

Manchester City draw against West Ham

They received a great boost in their bid for the title as Manchester City dropped points against West Ham. The game ended up being a 2-2 draw which must be a relief for Pep Guardiola given how it started.

West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen bagged a brace in the first half and the Hammers were up by 2. However, a goal from Jack Grealish and an own goal from Coufal leveled the tie. There was some drama in the end as City were awarded a penalty in the 85th minute.

However, Riyad Mahrez’s attempt was saved by West Ham goalie Lukasz Fabianski and the match meandered towards a draw. City still have a lead of four points over Liverpool with one game left to play. However, if Liverpool win their match against Southampton, then they’ll cut the lead to a single point.

Liverpool and City’s final fixtures

Liverpool will go up against Wolves in their last game in the Premier League while City will face Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa. A win against Villa would give City the title. However, if they lose or even draw the game and Liverpool win both of their remaining games, the title would be Liverpool’s and they would be on track for the quadruple this season.
