The show is based around Birmingham City, set in the post-World War 1 era in an area called Small Heath. Interestingly, Birmingham City Football Club was initially known as Small Heath Alliance. Before the release of their sixth season, Peaky Blinders’ official Instagram account gave a challenge to the football club to go back to their roots and go back to their initial name.

The football club accepted the challenge and replied with a post of their own, saying that they accept the challenge. Moreover, the football players will walk out on the pitch with the series’ theme song Red Right Hand, and the pitch will be surrounded by hoardings based around the series.
