Chelsea FC is in a world of turmoil right now as their owner, Roman Abramovich, is facing a lot of pressure from the UK government. The Russian businessman has been heavily criticized for his alleged involvement with the ongoing European crises, and the Premier League club got caught up in all of it.

Tensions got so high around the club that Abramovich had to make a statement, stating that he was stepping away from the club he has owned for over 20 years now. Nevertheless, he is still the owner and reportedly he really wants that to change as soon as possible.

Swiss Billionaire reveals that Roman Abramovich is panicking

Swiss Billionaire Hansorg Wyss spoke about Abramovich in an interview with Blick, a Swiss newspaper. He revealed that Abramovich is panicking and wants to sell all of his properties in England. His position as one of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s closest advisers has landed him in this spot of jeopardy.

Abramovich is one of Putin’s closest advisers and friends. Like all other oligarchs, he is also in a state of panic.” Abramovich is trying to sell all his properties in England. He also wants to get rid of Chelsea quickly. I and three other people received an offer on Tuesday to buy the club from Abramovich,” Wyss revealed.

This news wouldn’t be very well received in London, as Chelsea fans love Abramovich for everything that he has done for the club and the local community. Nevertheless, things have reached a boiling point politically, and something will have to give.

Does Chelsea have a new owner already?

Wyss didn’t stop there and also revealed that the Russian businessman is asking for a lot of money for his club. He revealed that the club owed him a whopping £2 billion, which the new buyer will have to compensate. As a result, Wyss wouldn’t buy Chelsea on his own, but there’s a possibility that he steps in with a consortium of six or seven investors.

I can well imagine starting at Chelsea with partners, but I have to examine the general conditions first. But what I can say for sure is that I’m definitely not doing something like this alone. If I buy the club, then it would be with a consortium consisting of six or seven investors,” he added.
