Manchester United was the biggest club in the world in the 2000s. They had a squad full of world-class players that reached its peak in 2008 by winning the Champions League. It was also the last major trophy Cristiano Ronaldo won for the club.
That streak is still going strong after his return to the club this season, as Manchester United are not in contention for any trophy. Moreover, the Portuguese forward might not be very happy after he watches his former teammate, Wayne Rooney’s recent interview with The Sun.

Wayne Rooney calls Ronaldo annoying
The Englishman spoke about Cristiano Ronaldo, among other things, in the interview and made a few eye-catching statements. He thought that Ronaldo was a great player and an annoying person at the same time. Moreover, he added that he might have regressed as a player, but still probably is very annoying.
“Cristiano was so good and so f***ing annoying at the same time. He is probably not as good now but he is probably just as annoying,” Rooney said.

Ronaldo was playing against Rooney’s England in the World Cup, and tensions were high. Rooney committed a foul in the match and Ronaldo immediately went to the referee to plead for a red card for his teammate. The referee listened to his pleas and Rooney was sent off, much to the chagrin of the entirety of England.
Rooney talked about the incident in the interview and revealed that he had no problem with Ronaldo. Incidentally, he was trying to get him sent off for diving as well. However, he didn’t stop there.
“I am English, he is Portuguese. When we are playing I do not give a f*** about him. He is not my mate. But when we have finished, we are mates again,” Rooney revealed.
