Lionel Messi is still a phenomenal player even at 34. The Paris Saint Germain forward hasn’t had the best season with his club, but his performances in the last season were enough to win him the Ballon d’Or in 2021. His class as a player truly cannot be understated.

While his performances for PSG might not reflect well on his high standards, he has been in fine form for Argentina. Messi scored several important goals during Argentina’s World Cup qualifying campaign and helped his nation reach the competition relatively easily.

Incidentally, he has always been known to practice a few trick shots on the side and always get them right. A video of Messi nutmegging a reporter who was standing about 40 meters away from him comes to mind. This time around, Messi posted a video of him hitting a ball perfectly inside a ball bag which was placed about 25 meters away from him; truly phenomenal.

Lionel Messi and his form for PSG

He was in fine form for the club in the Champions League, scoring five goals in five games in the group stages. However, he couldn’t continue his hot streak in PSG’s round-of-16 tie against Real Madrid, and PSG were knocked out of the competition.
