The unfortunate death of George Floyd sparked a wave of protests in the United States and beyond, demanding police reform and racial justice. In light of the sensitive situation, several gaming companies suspended events and also pledged donations. Consequently, Sony postponed its gameplay reveal event for PlayStation 5, initially scheduled for June 4.
They stated it was the right time for “more important voices to be heard”, not for “celebration”. The company acted quickly to its credit, and their gesture showed humanity comes before business. However, yesterday, Sony announced the new date for the event, which will now take place on Thursday, June 11, at 1 pm PT/ 9 pm BST/ 10 pm CEST.

He also advised wearing headphones as the show will involve “some cool audio work.” Listening through phone or laptop speakers might not amplify the experience.
