There are now six teams that have announced their provisional world cup team 2019 squads for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Joining the likes of Australia, New Zealand, India, Bangladesh and England, the South Africa World Cup 2019 player list has been released.

Now, it seems that the World Cup 2019 South Africa squad has thrown up a few surprises. Veteran player Hashim Amla has seemingly found a berth in the South Africa World Cup squad.

Amla has amassed a grand total of 8865 runs which have nearly breached the 9000 mark. Inspite of his inconsistent form, the board has obviously put a lot of faith in him to include Amla in the South Africa team.

But the decision did not come without sacrifices as the South Africa squad for the World Cup 2019 will be without the services of Reeza Hendricks. Initially, Hendricks was touted as a replacement for Amla to slowly phase him out.

However, barring a century on his ODI debut, Hendricks lacked consistency. Naturally, it dashed his chances of making the ICC World Cup 2019 squad.

Now, with Amla in the South Africa squad for the World Cup 2019, it really gives the Proteas healthy opening options. Amla can link up with the in form Quinton de Kock in the South Africa squad 2019 and really do some serious damage.
