The three-time Grand Slam champion, Stan Wawrinka announces good news for his fans as he confirms his participation at European Open in Antwerp, Belgium.

After his US Open success, Wawrinka re-entered the Top 20 ATP Rankings but due to his on-going knee problems he was sidelined from St. Petersburg Open 2019. That eventually led to a slump in his ranking as he missed the entire Asian swing which includes a Masters 1000 tournament in Shanghai.

At US Open 2019, he reached the quarterfinals by pulling off the biggest upset of the tournament. He won two sets against the top-seed and the defending champion, Novak Djokovic and later the Serb retired from the fourth round due to his shoulder injury.

However, Wawrinka was also not in his perfect form during the US Open 2019 quarterfinal match and stated that he was down with fever. This year, Stan Wawrinka reached the finals at ATP Rotterdam and lost to Gael Monfils in the finals.

After sufficient recuperation and rest, Stan Wawrinka seems to be excited for the ATP 250 in Antwerp.

Last Month, Juan Martin del Potro announced his return to the ATP circuit at Intrum Stockholm Open in Sweden and the Erste Bank Open 500 in Austria, but now he plans to skip both the events due to his ongoing recovery from the right knee surgery he underwent in the month of June.

“Hello from Barcelona! Been working with my team and doctors. They are very happy with the results and the rehab progress,” Del Potro sent it to his fans. “Thanks for your messages!”
