Stefanos Tsitsipas Adds Another Clay Event Ahead of French Open 2020 After Embarrassing Defeat in Rome

The ATP could only schedule two events before the French Open, namely the Italian Open and the Hamburg Open. However, most players like Stefanos Tsitsipas were looking to finish match-practice in Rome. Unfortunately for the Greek, the plan imploded.
In his first match, the Greek star suffered a defeat at the hands of young Jannik Sinner. He did manage to steal a set but his Italian opponent dominated the remaining two sets.
This loss was undoubtedly disappointing, and Tsitsipas’ practice being cut short made it even worse. But he understands the importance of it, which is why he has traveled to Germany to play at the Hamburg Open.

This is the first time that Stefanos will play in Hamburg and it has come out of necessity. However, he is still excited about the event which will begin on September 21, right after the Italian Open.

Ever since the ATP Tour resumed, Stefanos has not been playing his best tennis at all. At the Cincinnati Open, he lost his semi-final in straight sets, as he did at the US Open, where he lost in the third round. And now, he has lost early in the Italian Open.
These are disappointing performances considering Stefanos Tsitsipas is the reigning ATP Finals Champion. He needs to get his act together and he needs to do it before the French Open.

The Parisian Major will be the last one of the season and the Greek star will want to score. He is on the hunt for his maiden Grand Slam and hopefully, he will give himself a good chance of doing it when the event begins on September 27.
