Stefanos Tsitsipas Responds to Health Concerns From Fans During Coronavirus Threat

World No.6 Stefanos Tsitsipas has been comparatively active on social media since the suspension of the ATP tour due to the coronavirus pandemic. At the time of social distancing, Tsitsipas also posted some travelling videos and pictures of him. However, he wrote back to those questioning his health as a result of his travelling recently when he needs to self-quarantine.

The Greek sensation spent some time in the Indian Wells before the first ATP Tour Masters 1000 was cancelled due to the coronavirus threat in the US. Subsequently, he posted pictures of him going around in Venice, Los Angeles. He also raised many eyebrows as he hit the gym in New York at the time of isolating himself from public places.

“I have been trying to stay indoors as much as possible”: Stefanos Tsitsipas

The 21-year-old gave an update about his health and training routine during the pandemic. Tsitsipas assured his fans that health is his ‘number one priority’. Stefanos also revealed that he is following all the protocols to prevent and prepare for the coronavirus.

“Lately I’ve been seeing a lot of comments and concerns about my health and safety as a result of travelling in recent weeks. I want you all to know that my health is the number one priority. Therefore I have been trying to stay indoors as much as possible,” he wrote on Twitter.

He also assured that he has taken all the necessary precautions while travelling in order to stay safe. He is also minimizing any exposure by social distancing as best as he can. However, Tsitsipas explained that as an athlete, he has to stay active in whichever was possible.

“There are certain times throughout the day where I need to get out to exercise,” he added. “And need to take care of my body whenever it is possible to do so safely.”

“So, please know, I am taking this very seriously. I am aware that every person has a part to play in beating this virus in order for us to move past these difficult times as quickly as possible. Stay safe everyone,” he concluded.

After the suspension of all the clay events, the Greek gun might start to prepare for the grass season. Despite the coronavirus outspread, the players have to maintain their fitness level to prevent any injuries when the tour resumes.
