Floyd 'Money' Mayweather recently expressed the possibility of bringing an NBA team to Las Vegas after his announcement of the $20 Billion investment deal. Even though he didn't reveal much but he did mention that his team is currently in talks with the NBA.
On being asked about the possibility of bringing an NBA team to Las Vegas, Mayweather during an interview with ESNEW expressed, “I truly believe if I do or I don’t. Which I’m gonna have a team, whether it’s in Vegas or not in Vegas. I will have a team. He further shared that he has been working "behind the scenes" and that he will always pick Vegas first.
Mayweather has always been vocal about his love for NBA, and he also has a regular presence courtside at NBA games.
According to the reports, Las Vegas and Seattle are the frontrunners for expansion. As per Adam Silver, NBA commissioner, “One of our focuses as the league office is always on how do you create better competition. So that’s one of the things that we continue to think about as we consider expansion.”
Mayweather during his interview with Jabari Young of Forbes revealed his 20-billion-dollar deal. After few days after his billion-dollar deal announcement, Floyd 'Money' Mayweather expressed the possibility of bringing an NBA team to Las Vegas. However, the two deals are not related to each other.
