Lionel Messi is in a messy situation after a video of him has gotten viral which shows him moving the Mexican national team jersey with his foot while celebrating his victory. What did Canelo Alvarez have got to say on this, let's find out?
Canelo Alvarez recently threatened Lionel Messi post-Argentina win after he saw a video in which a Mexican jersey was on the floor. All of this led to a Twitter war and more.
The footage had been making rounds on social media where Messi is appearing to kick the jersey of a player. The footage is grainy and it appears to show Messi's foot grazing the jersey. Alvarez got angry seeing his country jersey on the floor and called out the disrespect.
Alvarez was irked by watching the video and he threatened the Argentine football icon Messi. Alvarez tweeted a series of tweets writing, “He better pray to God that I don’t find him. Just as I respect Argentina, you have to respect Mexico! I’m not talking about the country, I’m talking about Messi because of the bulls*** he did. Since the Mexico shirt is on the ground, it’s already an insult. Stop bulls***ing about what was or wasn’t.”
Alvarez got into a Twitter war with David Faitelson, a Mexican reporter for ESPN. The reporter called Alvarez "cowardly" for threatening Messi and that he should focus on his upcoming rematch with Dmitry Bivol, Alvarez hit back at the journalist and called him a "Coward you b******".
