People from all over the globe are currently mourning the loss of Queen Elizabeth II, who recently passed away at the age of 96. With that being said, today, let's recall the grand occasion when Hamilton had lunch with Her Majesty at Buckingham Palace.
Hamilton was awarded an MBE for winning his first world championship back in 2008. He was invited back for a lunch too so Hamilton turned up after the Brazilian Grand Prix and sat right next to the queen.
The hostess always starts table conversation with the person to her right. Lewis was on the queen's left, and that's why when he tried to initiate a conversation, the queen asked him to wait.
Even with the Queen not here with us anymore, such royal interactions and instances will always stay in our hearts reminding us of her majesty.
