When and Why was Hamilton invited to the Buckingham Palace?


Hamilton was awarded an MBE for winning his first world championship back in 2008. He was invited back for a lunch too so Hamilton turned up after the Brazilian Grand Prix and sat right next to the queen.

The hostess always starts table conversation with the person to her right. Lewis was on the queen's left, and that's why when he tried to initiate a conversation, the queen asked him to wait.
