The Women’s Global Empowerment Fund, a non-profit organization based out of Denver, issued a statement after the aforementioned incident. Karen Sugar, CEO of the company, left no stone unturned in her choice of words for Woods.

Woods’ actions have made an organization, that prides itself in women’s empowerment, very unhappy.

Sugar claimed it was misogynistic but also tone-deaf and disrespectful of the golfer to females all over the world.

She believed that the incident sent the wrong message to the issues surrounding mental health and periods, which women and girls go through around the globe.

Sugar was left stunned that Woods, father to a daughter, could act in such a shameful manner.

Moreover, she was also forced to think whether Woods was suggesting that “periods are embarrassing or shameful or a sign of weakness?” with his act.
