Juan Soto rejected Washington Nationals

Now, when the Major League Baseball is on hold until the lockout ends. The Washington Nationals outfielder Juan Soto has revealed that he turned down a 13-year contract worth $350 million from the Nationals before the lockout.

What Juan said on this

“Yes, they made me an offer a few months ago, before the lockout. But right now, my agents and I think the best option is to go year by year and wait for free agency."

Soto added

"My agent, Scott Boras, has control over the situation. Anyway, I still think of Washington as the place where I would like to spend the rest of my career, so we will see,”

Is New York his next choice?

Currently, we can't predict where he will move next, but for sure New York will not left any stone unturned to get him. Soto is just 23 years old and considering his playing capabilities, he has lots of years left in his career. But if he doesn’t sign any contract extension in the next three years with the Nationals, then his team might lose the star player. Because his current contract with the Nationals will expire after the 2024 season.
