Alex Oliveira trains
at ATS, Tres Rios 

Alex Oliveira is from Brazil and trains at a gym called ATS in Tres Rios, Rio de Janeiro. Oliveira with his coach André Tadeu demonstrates MMA techniques at their gym and imparts his knowledge to the female students at the gym.    

Using fight money to treat his son


Ahead of his fight against Shavkat Rakhmonov at UFC 254, Oliveira’s son got admitted to ICU. Oliveira’s manager informed that the fighter used the money from the pay-per-view to admit his 2-month-old son to a private hospital. 

Father to 11 kids

'Cowboy' is a father to 11 kids. The Brazilian national is close to his wife and family and when not training is often seen vacationing with them. 


The Grenade Incident

‘Cowboy’ faced a bizarre tragedy. While he was out to buy gasoline for his mom’s car. He saw his family in an altercation when he tried to confront them, a grenade was thrown toward him and the fragments injured the fighter.


Losing last 4 fights

'Cowboy' lost 4 of his last fights and this could be a reason why UFC is not keen on retaining the welterweight.  In his last outing, at UFC 272 Alex Oliveira was defeated by Kevin Holland.
