After his win against Cory Sandhagen at UFC 250, Aljamain Sterling called out Petr Yan during his post-fight interview. And this is where it all started.

After the call-out, a back and forth happened between the top two bantamweights. Finally, Sterling was given the title shot against Yan. At UFC 259 Yan lost via disqualification due to landing an illegal knee strike at Sterling.
