Many drivers faced death while driving in NASCAR. On the other hand, many of them miraculously survived. We will take a look at the top 5 crashes where drivers miraculously survived. 


5. Carl Edwards, 2009 Talladega 


During the Talladega race in 2009, Edwards was battling with Brad Keselowski at over 200 mph during the last lap. Unfortunately, his car flipped and hit the wall causing a massive wreak. However, he survived and memorably jogged to the finish line.

4. Kyle Larson 2013 Daytona

In 2013, when Kyle Larson was named Rookie of the Year, survived an awful crash at Daytona. After an incident with Brad Keselowski, Larson’s car had its engine and rear ripped off due to the impact from the wall. Fortunately, he did not sustain major injuries and got out of the car.

3. Ryan Newman 2020 Daytona 500

Veteran racer Ryan Newman had many crashes previously and the 2020 Daytona crash was certainly the most dangerous one. He took 15 minutes to get out of the car and spent almost 2 weeks at the hospital.

2. Rusty Wallace 1993 Winston 500

Wallace was about to finish top 5 at Winston 500 in 1993. However, he had a poor bump with Dale Earnhardt, which caused Wallace’s car to flip multiple times. Luckily, he suffered some minor injuries and survived that crash.

1. Geoff Bodine 2000 Daytona 250


This is probably the worst wreck in NASCAR history. Bodine's truck violently hit the fence after colliding with multiple cars. It continued to flip when he came back onto the track. It looked really dangerous, but he survived that crash somehow. He did suffer a concussion, facial laceration, and multiple fractures in his body.
