Austin Dillon’s Father Was More Worried About Richard Childress’ Track Return Than His Struggling Son
NASCAR
The NASCAR fraternity has been preparing itself for Kevin Harvick’s retirement and RCR team owner Mr. Childress lead the grid at Atlanta with a beautiful tribute for him.
Austin Dillon has been quite enthusiastic about his grandfather paying a heartfelt tribute to Stewart-Haas Racing’s #4 and in his recent interview he sheds some light on it.
Austin Dillon's performance in this season so far
Grand son of Richard Childress, Austin Dillon, is currently at the 28th position in the point standings and has not had much success in the qualifying race either. With only a single top 5 this season he has a lot to show in his performance.
Austin Dillon discloses his father Mike Dillon's fears amid Richard Childress tribute
In a recent press conference, Austin shared about his dad’s concerns about Richard Childress' special project in the garage. He said, “My dad said he’s more nervous about the #29 car going around this weekend than our Cup car.” He further added, “So he wants to make sure that that car makes his laps, and then he’ll be relaxed for the rest of the race because our whole shop has dug in on that car and put in a lot of work to get it running.”
Richard Childress' heart-warming tribute at Atlanta
The iconic #29 car that led Kevin Harvick to bag his first NASCAR win was brought on track. This was the best tribute that could have been given to Kevin Harvick, as he took his first checkered flag at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in 2001, in the very same car. This also brought back memories of legendary Dale Earnhardt who raced in the car before Harvick filled in his seat.
