After the recent altercation between Chase Elliott and Denny Hamlin at the Coca-Cola 600, the NASCAR community is divided with the penalty handed to the HMS driver.

Bubba Wallace’s spotter, Freddie Kraft feels Elliott should receive a further ban, as he drew an example of another HMS driver.

Elliott’s suspension

After intentionally crashing into Denny Hamlin, Elliott was handed a race ban, as he will miss the next race at the World Wide Technology Raceway. HMS already announced Elliott’s replacement, as Corey LaJoie will drive his car this Sunday.

In the latest episode of the ‘Door Bumper Clear’, podcast Kraft talked about another HMS driver, William Byron. He said, “If you are not losing anything, what’s the purpose? What’s the point of it?... if you are William Byron and you do something egregious enough to get suspended on the racetrack… like you are doing something that’s harming other drivers or putting other drivers in harm. This is a big deal.”

Kraft wants Elliott to lose his playoff eligibility

“You should lose whatever playoff eligibility you’ve already guarded. You shouldn’t, your wins should not count, you have to win again or point your way back in. You have to make this hurt to make these guys to stop f***ing doing this because obviously, it didn’t stop when Bubba got suspended last year. So you have to make this hurt right now.”
