Chase Elliott’s Fails To Follow in His Father’s Footsteps
NASCAR
Chase Elliott, the Golden Boy of NASCAR, is yet to secure a win this season. With only six races left before the playoffs commence, his chances of securing a spot in the playoffs remain uncertain.
Disappointment in New Hampshire
For the first time in half a decade, Elliott faced disappointment in New Hampshire, finishing outside the top 10. This has led to questions about his ability to follow in his father's footsteps and live up to his legacy.
Discomfort with Recurring Questions
During a pre-race media session at Pocono Raceway, when a reporter asked about qualifying at the circuit, Chase Elliott’s discomfort with recurring questions became apparent. Sirius XM’s Claire B Lang asked, “Can you talk about qualifying, and the difficulty or art of qualifying here and how you look at it?”
Elliott responded, “I am not the person to be asking about qualifying … if you haven’t noticed. I used to qualify okay, but we just haven’t qualified well in a while.” He made light of the fact that he’s been off his game lately and thus may not hold the key to unlocking the secrets of qualifying at Pocono.
Furthermore, during the interview, he delved into the pearls of wisdom passed down by his father when confronted with Bob Pockrass’s inquiry about the playoffs. With a glint of reminiscence, he said, “It’s like my dad has said over the years you just have to ride the wave and continue to put the work in, and it will work itself out.” This shows that despite his struggles, Elliott is determined to keep pushing forward and working hard to achieve success.
