A Season to Forget

NASCAR's golden boy had a tough 2023 season. For the first time in his career, he missed the playoffs and was out of the championship race. But there was more to his struggle than meets the eye.

The Hidden Injury

Elliott revealed that a broken tibia, the result of a snowboarding accident, was not his only injury. He continued racing despite the pain, but the truth was yet to come out. He said, "Just wanted to give you a quick update, I had a little procedure on my shoulder. Had an old injury that I needed to get tended to."

The Road to Recovery

Elliott underwent another surgery during the off-season, this time for his shoulder. He assured his fans, "Obviously, the off-season is a much better time to do that than my last surgery…ready to go for 2024. Started to look forward to the Daytona 500 coming up in February."
