Dale Earnhardt Jr Reveals Wife’s Shocking Announcement That Marked a Turning Point for Him as a Father

Dale Earnhardt Jr had a pretty awesome week, as his driver, Justin Allgaier clinched victory at the Xfinity Series at Charlotte Motor Speedway. 

However, Earnhardt Jr. could not attend the race in person and had to watch it from his home. Recently he revealed the real reason behind it.

At Charlotte Motor Speedway, Justin Allgaier took his #7 Chevy home to the finish line to clinch an amazing win for his team, JR Motorsports. The owner of JR Motorsports was really happy despite not watching the race live. 

Dale Jr revealed why he could not attend the race

In his ‘Dale Jr Download’ podcast, Earnhardt Jr revealed that his eldest daughter Isla was having a sleepover. He said, “Amy (Earnhardt) said, hey Isla’s got a friend coming over from school, that was another really big moment where you are like, how the hell did I get here, somebody’s trusting their kid with us?”

Dale Jr revealed further details about Isla's sleepover 


“They were bouncing off the walls man and so I walk into the room and Isla looks at me and says, hey my friends are here for sleepover, like said it that fast and I’m like Amy have they been drinking coffee?... They are doing flips into the bed off of the furniture, they’re like gymnastics happening in the dark.”
