On Tuesday, a test session was organized by NASCAR to set the rules package ahead of the Daytona 500, for which the NASCAR Cup Series teams had a session at the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida.
The rules according to the NASCAR officials read that a car should have an engine-output target of 510 horsepower combined with a 7-inch rear spoiler
During the testing sessions, John Probst, Senior Vice President of Racing Innovation (NASCAR) said “Now granted, there’s no trophy. There’s no points. There’s no money on the line. So I think the level of intensity when they come back will be ratcheted up significantly,” .
Dale Jr. surprised everyone on the track during which he said, “it's been fun and also a great learning experience. I am enjoying the track and the chance we get behind the wheel is even better”
After completing the practice session Joey Logano and Kurt Busch were asked about their view, its when Joey said “It was great. It was intense, that’s probably the right word for it,”.
While Kurt Busch added, “We were just trying to go through checklist items,”.
