The confrontation between Childress and Busch in 2011

During the NASCAR Truck Series in Kansas, a frustrated Busch tapped Joey Coulter’s truck on the cool-down lap. Childress did not like what he saw from Busch, as he removed his watch and gave his grandson, saying, “Hold my watch.” Then, he punched Busch and put him in a headlock as well. As a result, he received a $150,000 fine.

After Busch won the Cup Series race at Gateway, Childress was asked about his confrontation with Busch in 2011. He said, “We put that totally behind us; we talked about it, and it was one of the first things we talked about, and the rest is history. We’ve both grown a lot now. I’ve grown older, but I’ve grown up too.”
