NASCAR
Hailie Deegan, the young talent from Ford's driver development program, is set to make a comeback in the 2024 NASCAR season. After a challenging stint in the truck series, Deegan is ready to pilot the No. 14 Ford for AM Racing.
A Tough Road in the Truck Series
Deegan's journey in the truck series was marked by trials and tribulations. Despite participating in 67 races over three years, she didn't secure a single victory and managed only five top-10 finishes. "It’s been a wild journey," Deegan admitted.
A New Chapter with AM Racing
In a surprising turn of events, AM Racing announced their plan to field two cars in the 2024 season, opening doors for Deegan. She described the experience as "almost one of the scenarios where it’s too good to be true, and you almost don’t believe it until the contract is signed."
Mark Rushbrook, global director of Ford Performance Motorsports, expressed his excitement about Deegan's progress. He said, "We are excited to see Hailie continuing to advance her career. Hailie works so hard on and off the track, and AM Racing will surround her with a great team to continue her development." As Deegan steps into the NASCAR Xfinity Series, she carries with her a whirlwind of emotions and high expectations.
Despite these challenges, Deegan’s future in NASCAR is not all bleak. The Xfinity Series could be her next destination, offering a chance for redemption.
