Casey Elliott, a promising talent in the NASCAR universe, was more than just Chase Elliott's cousin. He was a beacon of hope for the Elliott family, a potential superstar whose journey was abruptly halted by cancer at the tender age of 21.

The Battle and The Loss

Casey's promising career in the NASCAR Busch Series was overshadowed by a malignant growth on his thigh. The Elliott family's dream of seeing Casey's racing career flourish turned into a fight for his life. Despite a valiant battle, Casey succumbed to cancer on January 14, 1996, just two months after Chase was born.

Honoring Casey's Legacy

Fast forward to 2018, Chase Elliott honored his cousin in a unique way. During the 2018 Bojangles’ Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway, Chase drove a car with a paint scheme that mirrored Casey's.
