The Track That Made History

This iconic track, California's Pride, has been the stage for countless memorable moments. "Kyle Busch's first victory with Richard Childress Racing" was one such moment that fans still cherish.

The Controversial Transformation

The decision to convert the 2-mile Auto Club Speedway into a half-mile short track stirred controversy. The demolition began right after the last race in February, aiming to bring back NASCAR's golden era. But fans are demanding "the same respect for Fontana as Daytona", as the latest developments have left a sour taste.

The Current State of Fontana

According to Mark J. Rebilas, a pro series i-racer and sports photographer, the construction is in full swing with turns 1 & 2 at the Fontana Speedway being worked on. However, he expressed surprise at the untouched front stretch area, tweeting, "Wonder if they'll actually build the 1/2 mile short track. The front stretch area where it's supposed to go is still untouched by the demo…". This update has further fueled the emotional turmoil among fans.
