Michael Jordan’s NASCAR Team’s Selflessness Melts Hearts After Jimmie Johnson’s Pit Member Nearly Fell Victim of Grave Tragedy

Jimmie Johnson and Richard Petty-owned team, Legacy Motor Club had a tragic incident involving Erik Jones’ car at the World Wide Technology Raceway. 

One member of the pit crew got injured pretty badly. However, Michael Jordan’s team stepped up to help Johnson’s team, which won many hearts on the internet. 

What exactly happened with the pit crew?

The front tire pit crew member of Erik Jones’ car, Thomas Hatcher, collided with another crew member and fell to the ground. Later, they had to take him to the hospital for treatment.

Earlier, the Legacy Motor Club took to Twitter and provided an update, saying, “Thomas Hatcher, front tire changer on the No. 43 team who was injured on pit road in yesterday’s NASCAR Cup Series race, was treated and released from St. Louis University Hospital last night. We are relieved he is resting and recovering at home in NC.”

Michael Jordan’s team helped their rival team 

After Hatcher suffered an injury, the 23XI Racing team’s front tire changer Houston Stamper took Hatcher’s place in the LMC pit crew. Later, LMC took to Twitter and said, “Also, a huge thanks to 23XI Racing for lending a helping hand when one of our own got hurt. The NASCAR garage is truly one family.” Notably, the 23XI Racing team’s two drivers, Bubba Wallace and Tyler Reddick crashed out of the race early.

Meanwhile, many fans on Twitter lauded Jordan’s team, as one fan said, “When you're with @ToyotaRacing, you're family.” Vice president of race operations at LMC, Joey Cohen said, “I will echo this thanks to @23XIRacing as well.” Another person said, “Really cool @23XIRacing was able to lend a helping hand yesterday!”
