Watch: When Michael Jordan Trolled His Own Driver Bubba Wallace
NASCAR
Arguably the greatest NBA player of all time Michael Jordan and NASCAR legend Denny Hamlin currently co-own the NASCAR team, 23XI Racing.
They have two great drivers in Bubba Wallace and Tyler Reddick. However, Jordan once heavily trolled his own driver for making a remark about signing checks.
The beginning of 23XI Racing
In 2020, Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan decided to form a team together and named it 23XI Racing. They signed Bubba Wallace as their marquee signing, who had some impressive results so far with the team. The team made its debut in the 2021 Daytona 500.
When Jordan trolled Wallace
At the beginning of the 2021 season, Jordan, Wallace, and Hamiln sat with Michael Strahan for an interview. They were talking about nerves before a race but also being in control. Wallace made a cheeky statement, saying, “But at the end of the day they’re ultimately in control because they’re the ones who are signing them checks.” In reply, Jordan hilariously said, “The thing is, we don’t sign checks to losers.”
Wallace did not live up to the expectations so far
After a lackluster 2022 season, many were hoping to see a different Wallace. However, Wallace did not start the 2023 season in a great fashion. However, he did make a comeback after getting back-to-back top 5 results. But, in the latest race at the Gateway, he crashed out. Now, he will be hoping for a better result at the IMS.
